Nancy Netwal and her horse Yul

Yul in the Sidepull BridleWhen I bought my Morgan gelding Yul it quickly became apparent that he had numerous issues under saddle. His front end was totally locked up and he worried constantly. I decided to give him some time off and totally restart his training. When we started over he told me in no uncertain terms that he HATED bits. He worried and fretted anytime I put a bit in his mouth (or anywhere near him).  I tried several types of "bitless" bridles, but none were quite what I was looking for.
Yul in the sidepull bridleI’ve known about Diana's sidepull bridle for years, but never had a need for one. Considering the 30-day trial period I figured I had nothing to lose and ordered one.
The first time I rode Yul in Diana’s sidepull bridle I noticed a huge difference. He stretched down into the bridle and used his topline much better.
Lateral flexion has always been a problem for Yul as he was very stuck in the poll. Diana’s sidepull bridle has helped him learn how to give left and right to the reins and stay soft.
Yul has relaxed and become much Yul in sidepullcalmer in this bridle. His response tells me the bridle’s cues are clear and easily understood. I really like the quick release it provides when Yul softens. This is something I didn’t find with the other bitless systems.
I like how nicely Diana’s sidepull sits on Yul’s head. The noseband stays in one place and the cheek pieces do not pull up into the eye. The control of the horse’s face is excellent. You can be very soft, but if you need to do a stronger whoa or turn this bridle "gets 'er done."
Combined with a treeless saddle and lots of bodywork, Diana’s sidepull has finally made my buddy happy. He has gone from pinned ears, worry lines, and a "yawing" mouth to a quiet, content happy camper. His stride has gone from short and choppy to longer and swinging. He is no longer a "turtle" with his head and neck. He is definitely stretching down into the sidepull and carrying himself so much better. I’m not the only one who can see this change in Yul. One of my friends says he is moving more relaxed and looks better than he ever has. Diana’s sidepull bridle was the final link that has allowed us to put it all together.

Thank you, Diana!

P.S.Yul in Sidepull
I want to share that I had two great trail rides on Yul over the weekend. His confidence is growing by leaps and bounds and he seems genuinely happy to be out and about. The sidepull is great on the trails. It’s nice to be able to get a bit “strong” with my hands if I have to and know I am not hurting his mouth. I’m so happy my buddy is coming through for me. As I said, the sidepull is a huge part in this happening.
